Mission
The Guild of American Spectacle Makers was founded on three core principles: to advance craft, foster community, and champion independence.
1. To Advance Craft. We are dedicated to excellence in spectacle making in every tradition, of every material, by every technique. We provide educational resources, document the work of our members, and uphold a standard of mastery by which makers may measure their craft.
2. To Foster Community. We believe that collaboration elevates our craft. The Guild serves as a hemispheric network connecting makers across the Americas, facilitating the exchange of ideas, and providing a unified voice for our members.
3. To Champion Independence. We support and promote the work of independent artisans of the Americas. In an era of mass production, we advocate for the unique value, enduring quality, and personal artistry that only a skilled maker can provide.
Community
The Guild operates and maintains an active Root server, where we are able to organize meetings and provide news. You can join by clicking this invite link, or visiting https://guild.vision/community
