Temple Splay

Splay is the angle of a temple relative to the top-down view of the frame front, as it extends temporally away from the wearer's head. Zero splay means the temple is perpendicular to the posterior extents of the frame, and that is often the goal of conventional design. Splay is typically cut in during marriage, creating a fixed amount relative to hinge position and final intended base curve.
