Mold Design for Eyewear

Eyewear presents specific challenges for a mold designer: thin sections that must stay dimensionally true, visible surfaces that tolerate no gate vestige, and left-right pairs that must fill identically. The gate is the restriction through which melt enters the cavity. Its location determines flow patterns, weld line positions, and cosmetic appearance, and it is the first decision that constrains all the others.
